YG Entertainment announced the anniversary plans just two days before the actual date, confirming only a meet-and-greet capped at 40 BLINKs selected by lottery from active Weverse members. The original wording said “select members” would attend depending on schedules, language fans immediately read as a sign the group might not even appear together. YG didn’t confirm all four members would be there until August 7th, one day before the anniversary itself.
Jisoo Goes First
During the Weverse livestream that accompanied the small meet-and-greet, Jisoo was the one who addressed fan disappointment directly and on camera, later following up with a written apology of her own.

I think Jisoo stepping up first definitely says something about her role, right now she’s probably the most involved member of BLACKPINK. And she’s always been the most mature, and ready to make public statements.

Lisa Joins In, Directly Naming The Controversy
On August 14th, Lisa posted her own message specifically referencing “the many discussions happening online,” writing that she felt the same disappointment fans did and couldn’t imagine how upset they must have been.
Jennie’s Apology Comes Last, And Different
Jennie didn’t post anything addressing the controversy directly until August 17th, over a week after the anniversary and after her own solo schedule had wrapped. Her message explained she’d waited so her words would land better once things had settled, writing that she felt only remorse and had no excuses for how the day left fans feeling regretful instead of celebratory.

I don’t think Jennie’s late apology matters much. However, it also shows a bit of Jennie’s role in my opinion, she’s maybe the least involved member. Considering how short and late her response was.
