TUIDE, the debut act from HYBE’s new all-girl-group label ABD, officially released their first EP “TUNE & PLAY” on August 24th at 6 PM KST, led by title track “Sun Kiss.” The seven members, Seohee, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Seah, and Yi Hani, describe the group’s name as meaning “tune the tide,” reflecting their goal of blending each member’s individual style into one sound.
The EP was produced entirely by GroovyRoom, crafting what’s being called a “soultronic” sound, warm soul influences mixed with sleek electronic production, moving fluidly across R&B, house, and UK garage. “Sun Kiss” itself leans into a relaxed, ocean-and-sunlight kind of energy, paired with a music video shot across Iceland’s black sand beaches, waterfalls, and quiet coastal villages, following the group as they travel together in a camper van.
Choreography-wise, TUIDE is skipping the usual tightly synchronized formations most rookie groups lean on, instead shifting between formations that let each member’s individual style stand out while still forming a cohesive group visual. It’s a notably different approach for a debut era, betting on personality and movement variety over uniform precision.
