Chaeyoung Becomes Second TWICE Member To Leave JYP Entertainment, Will Stay With The Group

Chaeyoung announced she’s leaving JYP Entertainment after 14 years with the company, making her the second TWICE member to depart the label following Jeongyeon’s earlier exit. She shared the news directly with fans in a personal Instagram post written in both Korean and English, thanking JYP and the TWICE team for their support over the years and specifically thanking her fellow members for being her strength throughout.

Chaeyoung made clear the move is tied to a new solo venture called LIL FANTASY, which she described as a space to explore and build her own music, rather than a step away from the group. She emphasized that nothing changes with TWICE, calling her time in the group “her roots” and confirming she’ll continue promoting with the members going forward despite the label change.

The announcement follows Jeongyeon’s own JYP departure just days earlier, meaning two of TWICE’s nine members have now left the agency in quick succession while staying with the group itself. It raises real questions about how JYP plans to structure future promotions and contracts if more members follow the same path ahead of the group’s broader renewal window.

[Honestly, Chaeyoung’s departure doesn’t surprise me much. Considering Jeongyeon also left just a few days ago. It’s nice to see K-POP idols prioritizing what they want nowadays, I also hope Chaeyoung’s solo move is successful.]
